IAIMS Planning Grant Status
This planning grant is a combined effort of WVU's academic health sciences center, University Health Associates (UHA) practice plan, and West Virginia University Hospitals (WVUH). These entities are administratively independent, but share a number of physical and intellectual resources, including some personnel, facilities, and library access. The planning process has been slowed by continued changes in key personnel involved in IAIMS, including the UHA/WVUH CIO (five times), the PI (two), the Project Manager (three). With a new, permanent CIO in place, the commitment to IAIMS and planning on the clinical side has improved and a strategic plan has been newly developed for UHA/WVUH. While specific IAIMS planning has been slowed , we have continued to see significant progress in planning and development on many of the items identified by the IAIMS focus groups and program team as crucial to effective use of information resources within the RCBHSC. Parts of the plan for coordinating information technology and resource planning and project delivery have been prepared. Final information gathering is currently taking place, and we plan to have an approved planning process in place by late spring. |
